Sexes similar.
A beautiful species which can be found anywhere on the Island except in densest forest, though it will be found around forest waterfalls. A strong and rapid flyer, it loves to suck up minerals from roadside seepages.

Sri Lanka to S. China, Thailand and peninsular Malaysia. Other subspecies from Sundaland, Lesser Sunda Islands and the Philippines.
