Hewitson 1865 - The Chocolate Royal

Only recently discovered, on 16 July 2012 on the Island of Koh Pha Ngan. This appears to be a rare species in southern Thailand.

Larval Foodplant

Cratoxylum cochinchinense (Guttiferae) and Durio zibenthinus (Bombacaceae)

Range

Peninsular Thailand south to Singapore. Other subspecies from Nepal, Sikkim, Myanmar and Mainland Thailand as well as Indo-China, S. China, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Sulawesi and the Philippines.
