At present, there are only three species in the genus. Two of them have the scutellum higher than it is long. Only one has it longer than high, as in this one. However, S. bifalcata is currently only known from Java, Indonesia.

Accordingly, the presence of this species in N. Thailand is intriguing. It has been found on 3 occasions only, each time at the same location, all in March.
