The genus Mioscarta currently has 13 known species, only one, M. rubens, is found on mainland Asia (E. India). All the others are island species, predominently the Phillipines, E. Indonesia and Borneo.

This species bears a very close resemblance to the Indian species, M. rubens, but the locations where it has been found in SE Asiaare rather remote from its type locality. It has always been found near water (small streams or lakes).

Range

Cambodia and Thailand.

Recorded distribution in Thailand. Chaiyaphum, Sa Kaeo and Chantaburi province.
