This species was first reported for Thailand in: Wu C. F. 1935 - Order XV. Homoptera. Catalogus insectorum sinensium. (Catalogue of Chinese insects) 2: 1-634. (page 46). No details of location are known.

All descriptions of the species say the the tegmina are entirely black, with a single red spot on the costa near the reticulated apical section. There is a photo in the Unidentified section of this site showing a very similar specimen from Kaeng Krachan, Phetchaburi province, but the anterior 2/3rds. of the tegmina are not black but a pale hyaline golden colour with black veins.
