Callitettix costalis - Lallemand 1933
This species is a new record for Thailand. It was previously considered to be endemic to peninsular Malaysia. The location in Thailand is only about 5Km. from the Malay border at c.1000m.
In recent years the species appears to have been found on Java. However, ALL specimens from that island lack the posterior white spots on the tegmina. Whether this is just a geographical variation, or a completely new species remains to be asertained, and specimens will need to be examined to answer this question. In all other aspects, these Javanese specimens match C. costalis perfectly.
