Purlisa gigantea gigantea
Distant 1881 - Giant Imperial
This magnificent species is the largest of the Theclini to be found in Thailand. It is considered primarily a montane species, and, in deed, on Samui, it is only to be found on the hilltops arround 500m.
It is a very rare species, but its size and glorious shining blue upperside makes it immediately identifiable.
