Jamides bochus nabonassar

Fruhstorfer 1916 - Dark Caerulean

This is the only member of the bochus subgroup found in Thailand.

It is a small species with strong dark metallic blue uppersides in the male, and is a fast flyer.

It is usdually to be found in open country amonst secondary vegetation.

Larval Foodplant

Xylia xylocarpua (Mimosaceae), Pueraria colletti, Pueria mirifica and Butea frondosa (all Papilionaceae)


Peninsular Thailand, Malysia, Sumatra and Borneo. Other subspecies can be found from Sri Lanka all the way to the Fiji Islands.
