Corbet 1941 - Black-spotted Grass Blue

A very small species that has only been found in a single location on Samui. This is a small coconut plantation next to the International Airport. Its legmunious hostplant was growing there, however, the area has been 'tidied up', and the hostplant destroyed. In December 2011, it was found for the first time on Koh Pha Ngan, the third known location in Thailand.

The plant is, however, quite a common weed, so it is hoped that further colonies may be found on the Island. It is possible it has been overlooked as it is very small and resembles the very common Zizula hylax when on the wing.
