Arhopala silhetensis adorea

de Niceville 1890 - Sylhet Oakblue

A large species of forests and forest clearings.

The subspecies is only provisional, at the moment, as all specimens from the Island show extreme differences from both A. s. adorea, and the more northern nominate subspecies, A. s. silhetensis. All markings are extremely dark, particularly in the submarginal and post-discal areas. Investigations are currently in force to see whether it can be described as a new subspecies.
