Arhopala bazaloides bazaloides

Hewitson 1878 - Tamil Oakblue

Until 19 November 2011, this species had only been found on Koh Pha Ngan. However, on that date a specimen was seen on a hillside in the north of Samui.

It is an uncommon species, found in wooded localities, but can be found at the edges of the forests feeing on the fruits of the Singapore Rhodadendron, when in season.

This species can be identified by posessing a central spot in space 8 of the hindwing, present in no other species of Arhopala.
