Allotinus unicolor unicolor
C & R Felder 1865 - The Unicolored Darkie
This is the only species of this genus, which has 13 members in Thailand, so far found on Samui. They are forest species.
This is easily identified with their pale undersides, marked with dark spots. The upperside is plain brown, the males having a pale brand on the upperside of the forewings. Males also have very long abdomens, whilst the hindwings of the smaller females are toothed to varying degrees.

Larval Foodplant
The larvae are carniverous, and have been found feeding on Aphids on a species of Bamboo
Range
Peninsular Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra. Other subspecies found in Myanmar, Indo-China and Northern Thailand.
