Potanthus pamela
Evans 1934 - The Vestigial-spot Dart
Koh Samui only.
A rare species, only seen once on Samui, back in 2007. However, this genus is very difficult to identify individual species in the field, as they are all so similar. This species is identified by lacking a spot in space 7 on the hindwing, both on the upper and undersides. Often, the underside spot in space 6 is also missing, or, at best, only vestigial (hence the English name).
