This widespread forest species appears to be not uncommon. It can be found at mid-level elevations.

The specimen from Yala differs from the type description only in that the legs are yellow. I have not been able to find any description which matches this, but consider this to be an unusual colour variation only.

Range

India, China, Bangladesh, Malaysia (peninsula), New Guinea and Thailand.

Recorded distribution in Thailand. Chiang Mai, Uthai Thani, Rayong, Kanchanaburi, Phetchaburi, Yala, Satun, Phangnga, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces.
